No one knows you better than yourself.

UOK Therapist Jenny Ellis

Hi, I’m Jenny, but you can call me Jenn.

It’s natural to be curious about your therapist, you’re trusting them with your most precious thoughts, feelings and experiences. I should know, I had a lot of questions about my therapist when I started personal therapy too.

I believe my extensive experience of personal therapy is paramount in my client work. After all, how can I ask you to trust me to accompany you to those places within, if I’ve never been to my own?

I have lived a colourful life (and I’m not just talking about my hair), which provides me with experiences to draw on when working with you.

Helping you navigate.

As a Person Centred Therapist I believe no one knows you better than yourself. Perhaps you just need a little help to navigate your own path, and find your happy.

As part of your free session we will explore your expectations and goals for counselling. This is your time to ask me any questions you may have about the way I work, find out if I’m the right therapist for you, and how you feel about starting your therapeutic journey.

Can you imagine having someone to truly listen you?

Do you know how it feels to be really heard?

  • “I am so grateful to have had Jenny recommended to me. We’ve worked together for over a year now, and whilst I still have a way to go, I couldn’t have done it without her. I feel confident in the world now. I can finally cope and maintain my boundaries.”

  • “Thank you so much for helping me through the hardest of times. I was at a crossroads in my life, and no one else understood, but you allowed me the space and time to reflect at my own pace.”

    34, F

  • “Jenny helped me explore the hard questions that I’d been avoiding for so long. Her patience, gentle yet firm approach coupled with who she is and her skills/ experience, makes her excellent at what she does. Thank you.”

    50, M

  • Jenny has been great help with helping me learn who I am and come to terms with how I feel and understand those new feelings. Always providing a safe environment to open and feel secure that knowing that I could be honest without being judged or ridiculed. She has been patient and understanding with me and knowing when to press on a subject, let it go or to rephrase questions to help me understand where I was going wrong or confusing myself. Every session has been welcoming and comfortable with no pressure, just met with the willingness to help or just a friendly ear to listen to me vent my frustrations. I would feel more than happy to recommend her to anyone seeking help.

My approach to therapy.

I work in a non-directive and non-judgemental way. I do not advise or interpret, I can help you, but I cannot do the work for you. There are many modalities of therapy, finding the one for you is important. That’s one of the reasons I offer a free 30-minute exploratory session to see if we can work together.

Your choice of therapy, your choice of therapist. I encourage you to listen to your gut feeling when it comes to finding a therapist. I trust you to know what’s right for you.

I can’t fix your problems for you, but I can promise that you won’t have to face them alone.
